main May 22nd, 2008 : The new Therevox Electro-Theremin, model ET-3 has been shipped. I made a total of 13 of them and they sold for $700 USD. I still have one remaining, but I'm not sure if I am going to sell that. Any offers? Alternatively, I was thinking about renting it out. Anyways, the ET-3's turned out great in my opinion. They were a lot of work, and ended up costing me a lot more money than I originally intended. The funnest part was learning how to silkscreen to print the graphics on the panels. This was definitely a step-up from the ET-1, where I had to place indidvually vinyl-cut words. It also allowed me to do more intricate graphics. I will have a page up about the ET-3's soon. In the meantime, you can see pictures from the building process here. When I had the ET-3's finished, I had the opportunity to experiment with several of them connected to each other. Since the ET-3 had control voltage outputs and inputs for various things, I was able to hook them up to eachother. Using one's output as an LFO into the Frequency modulation input of another, I was able to get some really strange and cool sounds. Unfortunately, I am not making any more Electro-Theremins at this time. I am currently in New Zealand without access to the necessary equipment. My situation might change here, but until then.. I am definitely not making any Electro-Theremins right now. contact me. |
